The main purpose of this course is to start making quality portfolio pieces and learn how to create conceptual designs. You will learn about the seven creative strategies. You may end up creating a set of conceptual images based on an object. Other projects may be making a business logo, a book cover, and a public service announcement graphic design. You will be expected to read the book ‘How to get Ideas’ and improve your process as a result. Each week you will continue one of your projects and meet in class to get feedback. My teacher also instructed us on concepts such as what makes a good design, how to use photoshop better, how to handle use AI to help us design, and how to choose paper and mockups that will aid your design. With each project as with Introduction to Graphic Design you will need to create a process book.

The main thing that people cited learning in this class was how to make designs conceptual, how to improve their design process, and how to spot problems in their designs. I would recommend this course to anyone who is considering a career in design as useful way to build your portfolio while you learn.
